ABOUT MANIBHADRA VEER MAHARAJ

The Life journey of Shri Manibhadra Veer Maharaj It begin with the story of a really wealthy and devoted Jain person named Seth Manek Shah. He was a fervent follower of the messages and lessons of Jainism. He was a decent listener and was so fond of music that he used to listen around 36 kinds of musical instruments. With considering his ceaseless dedication worthily he was affirmed as a “Kshetrapal”. (Kshetrapal – The protector of certain area) It is said that once he kept himself away from all religious and devotional activities which worried his mother. When she knew that Shri Anandvimal Suriji Maharaj Saheb was in Ujjain, she took the opportunity and asked Manekshah to go and meet him. Once, they met and Manehshah received knowledge and guidance from Shri Anandvimal Suriji Maharaj Saheb, he realized his mistake and began the worship and prayers whole heartedly. While on his business trip at Agra, he knew that Shri Anandvimal Suriji was also there for his “Chaturmaas”. He as a polite follower, approached him and was significantly touched by the lessons, teachings and knowledge he was given about life, holiness, worship and important of the “Shetrunjaya” in Jainism. (Shetrunjaya better known is Shetrunjaya Hills are located near the city of Palitana, Bhavnagar District, Gujarat.) Following this, Manehshah decided to go on an on-foot pilgrimage to Shetrunjaya for Navanuni yatra. He dicided to complete this coarse trip by doing “Nirjal Upvaas” (Nirjal Upvaas – Dehydrated Fasting ) for two days under a Ryan tree. He began his resolve with the blessings of his Guru on auspicious Kartiki Punam. While taking rest in a forest near Magarvada, they were being attached by dacoits. As part of his penance, Manehshah was meditating and was holding silence. The dacoits threaten him and tried to provoke him too but as he was chanting Navkar Mantra in his mind, he remained silent and not reacted. That angered the thugs and they out of rage attacked him and cut his body in three parts. As Manenshah was totally dedicated and absorbed in his worship and Mantra jaap, he had a auspicious meditative death. He revived and emerged in the form of Shri Manibhadra Veer Maharaj. Upon asking, he explained this to Acharya Anandvimal Suriji and requested to set up a sanctuary for his awakening so the devotees and pilgrims can worship wholeheartedly and he can fulfil their wish and can protect them. Following this his temples was built in Magarvada by setting a “pind”. Later on two more temples were established at Ujjain and Aaglod.
